  January 1, 1935 - September 6, 2011		  

Mr. O. D. Thurmon, 76, a Retired Bottling Company Laborer, of Ruston, Louisiana passed on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at the Ruston Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Ruston.  The Thurmon Family will receive family and friends from 6:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. in the B. E. King Memorial Chapel of King's Funeral Home in Ruston on Friday night. Mr. Thurmon's Homegoing Celebration Services will be held Saturday September 10, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ruston (Clay), Louisiana, with Dr. Kenneth D. Sapp, Officiating. Committal Services and Burial will immediately follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery of Ruston (Clay), Louisiana

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
