My deepest regards as it pertains to
my dear Aunt Helen. I regret being unable to attend
my Aunt's funeral. The arrangements were made so
quickly, however I have many memories of my Aunt
and was always so proud to acknowledge her and her
many great accomplishments. I am the youngest
daughter of her baby brother, Seamon, and I loved
my Aunt very much. AUNT HELEN, as you rest in
peace, may the Lord Jesus Christ receive you in His
mighty hands and give unto you, eternal rest! Love
Your niece, Yolanda

Condolences to the family of Our Dear
Cousin Dr Helen Richards Smith. Helen was very dear
to us. We were raised in awe of her bold example.
Her life marked us and thousands of others to get
educated, get out in the world, and make things
happen. And we've passed her mark along to tens of
thousands. Thank you Dear Cousin. We pray you rest
in peace.

As one of my favorite aunts she
leaves such a legacy. One of the reasons I got my
BS and my MBA was solely because of her. I
appreciate your instruction as far as the importance
of getting your education. To this I owe her. She
will surely be missed and I appreciate her values
and appreciation of family and style. Your niece

Dr.
Helen Richards-Smith
Expressions of sympathy are extended unto the
Richards-Smith’ family:
There are three words in the English language that
appear more solemn than all the others. They are:
Life, Death, and Eternity.
Life is more solemn than death. The object of
Christ’s death is eternal life; a Christian death
through Christ is a more abundant life.
The
prophet Nehemiah concludes in his writing that bears
his name with a beautiful prayer, one of the most
beautiful scriptures that all of us should pray,
saying: “Remember me, O my God, for good."
This was The Life, The Legacy and The Gift of Dr.
Helen Richards-Smith (Inspector 12) earnest plea and
desires above all others that when her life was
finished she would be remembered "for good."
This is the way that I see Dr. Smith:
A
ROSE
God
created the rose in the likeness of woman.
The
rose represents beauty.
The
stem represents strength.
The
petals are soft as skin.
The
fragrance pure and sweet.
The
leaves represent arms outstretched, always loving
and giving.
Dr.
Smith, we will always remember you as our rose.
You
were a pillar of strength.
Now
God has picked you for his garden, and you are
resting there.
Goodnight Dr. Smith, we’ll see you in the morning.
Mr.
Lindsey L. E. Barnette

Dr. Helen Richards-Smith will be dearly missed. She
was the guest speaker at my high school graduation.
Also, she hired me after graduating from high school
as her student helper.
