I met Dorothy at ALA conference in Dallas in
1971. She was a force of nature whom I never
forgot. We talked some years later, but lost
touch. Yet her spirit remains. My deepest

My condolences to all of the family and friends
of Dorothy Alexander. She made numerous
contributions while living in Oregon. At the
Northwest Regional Laboratory and as Chair of
the Commission on Black Affairs, Dorothy's work
improved elementary and secondary education as
well as the economic, legal, and political
status of African American people in the State
of Oregon. Rest in Peach, my dear friend. |
